Agenas, the National Agency for Regional Health Services, has officially launched the National Telemedicine Platform (PNT), a significant initiative under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The platform aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality by integrating regional services into a cohesive national system.

Key Features of the PNT:

  • Comprehensive Infrastructure: The PNT comprises a central National Telemedicine Infrastructure (INT) and 21 Regional Telemedicine Infrastructures (IRT), ensuring seamless delivery of telemedicine services across all regions and autonomous provinces.
  • Diverse Telemedicine Services: The platform offers a range of services, including teleconsultation, telemonitoring, and teleassistance, catering to various patient needs and medical conditions.
  • Extensive Deployment: Approximately 90,369 telemedicine workstations will be established in healthcare facilities such as rural pharmacies, medical offices, community health centers, and other health entities, facilitating widespread access to telehealth services.
